Coming out as gay is never easy, but living authentically may cost Bryan Ruby his current job in baseball and a future career in country music.
Each day he hears other ballplayers assaulted with the words “faggot” and “gay.” Each night, he writes lyrics for a genre that wears homophobia like a pair of boots.
Bryan’s closeted life erupts with inner conflicts while trapped between two visibly homophobic industries. Recognizing that silently “passing as straight” perpetuates this homophobic culture, Bryan Ruby takes a brave first step for himself and for those LGBTQ who will follow.
